This beautiful farmhouse is in Sarteano, in a very pleasant landscape. The farmhouse, which anciently was an old mill and its peculiarity is a little stream, coming from the town, which passes around the house. From this, a beautiful tavern carved in stone created from water has been created in the basement, with a dining room and a small cave next to it.
Very nice and welcoming is the small garden that surrounds the house.
Location
The property is 5km from Sarteano by car or 2km on foot.
Sarteano is an interesting Medieval town in the South of the province of Siena, between the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana, just 7 km from the Chiusi-Chianciano exit of the Autostrada del Sole (A1). Dating back to the times of the Etruscans and Romans, the town is divided between old and new. The old town is bordered by ancient walls, with three arched entrances which, through narrow alleys, lead to the castle at the top of the town.
Given the historical importance of the country, there are museums, ancient Etruscan tombs, and important events such as the civitas infernalis not to be missed. Another important and famous event is the Giostra del Saracino, a competition between districts, where five riders challenge each other with a rod and a ring, whoever takes the most rings wins. Sarteano is also in a very strategic position from which the most famous villages of the Val d’Orcia such as Pienza, San Quirico, Montalcino, Montepulciano and the thermal villages surrounding Mount Amiata, San Casciano dei Bagni, Bagni San Filippo and Bagno Vignoni are easily reachable. in an hour and a half you can also reach Rome, Florence and their respective airports.
