History:
Dating back to 1427, the property has a very rich history. It was home to Baldo d’Aguglione, one of Dante’s contemporaries who sentenced him to exile in 1311. From 1498 it belonged to one of the great Tuscan wine families, the Del Giocondo family. It has been home to the famous Leonardo da Vinci painting, the ‘Mona Lisa’ or ‘La Gioconda’, with the wife of Francesco del Giocondo as its subject.
