A surprisingly large stone cottage for sale in the hills midway between Lucca and Pisa.

The house is the end house of a group of 5 cottages in a very beautiful and peaceful location but just 10 minutes by car from the village of Molina di Quosa, which has several shops and a bar. It is only half an hour from Pisa airport.

The English architect owner has simply renovated the house, retaining the original cotta floors and massive chestnut beams.  There is a lovely traditional staircase and a glass landing.

The large kitchen leads directly to a terrace with a pergola of fragola grapes. There is an additional area of land of 120 sqm with 5 olive trees.

The other houses are owned by friendly local Italians who stay there occasionally.

Ground Floor:  large kitchen, sitting room or bedroom, smaller bedroom, bathroom with basin, bidet and wc. There is also a store room and brick pizza oven.

First Floor: large bedroom, another double bedroom, sitting room (or additional bedroom), bathroom with shower.

Net floor area  130 sqm.

The group of houses is approached by 650m of unpaved road which is in good condition and perfectly suitable for cars.

The house is 320m above the plains of Lucca and Pisa and remains significantly cooler than the cities in the height of the summer.  The group of houses is surrounded by chestnut forests with lovely walks. The excellent free beach at Marina di Vecchiano is 25 minutes away by car.

There are 2 wood-burning stoves, and a large open fireplace in the kitchen, with additional electric heaters.

The house is not connected to mains water but has underground cisterns containing up to 9000 litres fed by rainwater from the roof.  For drinking water it is better to bring this from a public fountain 6 minutes away.

Distances.  Lucca 17 km, Pisa Airport 20 km, Marina di Vecchiano 22km.

Most of the existing furniture and kitchen equipment is included in the price.
